For those who've got the Collector's Edition...

Unread postby Mugsy » 28 Aug 12, 4:07 pm

If anyone with the CE has been holding off using the two dyes that came with the CE, I just found out that each vial you get with your characters has unlimited uses. There's been a few posts on the Diablo 3 forums to confirm this but I didn't read them till now and thought I'd post this here in case anyone else wasn't getting max bang for buck from their CE purchase.

And, yes, I've been making new characters and deleting them just to collect more bottled smoke and bottled cloud dyes.

The two colours work pretty well together. Bottled Smoke is a dark grey colour while Bottled Cloud is more of a creamy white. Currently got my DH with a dark grey hood, shoulders, boots and pants, and then the creamy white cloak and gloves. Doesn't stand out as much as the reds etc but I reckon this suits the character more.

yeah I noticed this after I went to use it on my great new items and it stayed there.

I currently use white for my main set and black for MF set on my wizard. might swap that around for my barb.

Same thing happened to me. The magenta pants on my DH clashed with her Ranger Green top so I thought I'd try the Bottled Smoke on the top... and then it stayed there.

Wish there was an effect with the CE dyes... to me it sounded like there would be wisps of smoke or cloud coming off the dyed garment.

That is awesome! Cheers for the tip Mugsy :)

If I got a vial of dye from someone who has the CE, would that also have unlimited uses?

If you meant if for someone with the CE was to give you the Bottled Cloud and Bottled Smoke dyes, the description for the dyes say they are bound to the originator's account so I'd say the trade would be refused or the item probably wouldn't be seen by others if you dropped it on the ground for someone else to collect.

In saying that, items dyed in BC or BS can still be traded so you can get a mate with the CE to dye your items for you:

Sweet, yeah I'll just trade the stuff over and apply it. Then flick it back, easy! :)

No worries mate. It's a good thing one can dye stuff for others using the CE dyes... IMHO, it helps promote co-op play.
