Definitely a lot more blues dropping in general, maybe its just that you are collecting more **** makes the ilvl63 stuff seem rarer?

That's what we originally thought, but it doesn't seems to be the case when we examined the loot from the last 5 runs and just note all the rares.

We shifted through the drops and just noted the rares dropping from each elite and boss, and shared the info of what we each got and we definitely notice that there's a lower drop rate for these high end rares now.

And we thought about it...

it made sense, since Inferno is so easy now especially when ur geared, if the IL63 stuff drops at the same rate as they were before patch then there will be a FLOOD of them coming soon all over the AH, which they definitely will try to avoid.

since IL63 gears are pretty much the end of the road (still need a good roll of course but there's nothing better tier wise), there's no way they will let influx of excess IL63 to crash the market with everyone geared practically cruising Act3/4 like a sunday picnic stroll.

BronzeD: Since Act 3 and Act 4 have the same loot distribution table, is there any reason to do Act 4?

from posts I have seen on r/diablo, people are guessing that before the patch ilvl 63s dropped at an approximate rate of 20% in act 3 (honestly, I have an issue with how the guy has done the numbers, so it might be lower).

now they are dropping at 8% in Act 3 (confirmed by numbers and stated by blizzard), which is obviously a significant drop.

but it's fair enough I guess. overall it's easier to farm there, as well as probably wanting to redistribute the drop rates instead of add more. it's a way of controlling the amount of ilvl 63 items in the market.

do what you find easier. pre patch people used to smash siegebreaker runs, but now he has reflect damage it's not as easy. the change to stacked drop rates should also play into it. at 5 stacks each elite mob is guaranteed to drop 1 rare (up from 0), and bosses are guaranteed to drop 1 rare (down from 2). so doing a boss shouldn't be a target anymore, just a nice bonus at the end as they are typically fairly easy.

for anyone that isn't up with everything and to put everything in one place, the drop levels for ilvl 63 items are now:
act 1: 2% (from 0%)
act 2: 4% (from 0%)
act 3 and 4 (as well as whimseyshire): 8% (from ~20%).

below ilvl 63 there have been other changes (increase for hell act 4, act 1 and act 2 I believe), but not many people about that.

Unless you like Act4, not really...

because while Act3 have some annoying mobs still, so does Act4... oppressor is just lacuni in disguise, and just as annoying, and as much as succubus are annoying for barbarians, so is the caster in Act4 (in fact they probably are even more annoying despite their lack of armor destroying homing bolts)

with the new change it's not impossible that Act4 along with the change in the AI behavior could actually be profitable to farm now, but from the last test we did, it didn't feel so...

but honestly though that may be because we're used to making Act3 runs, and have been doing so for god knows how long now in inferno till we pretty much know to the letter what we can expect to fight and where.

edit: nah, Act4 is not really worth it now that we think about it... the high density of purple foes were about the only thing notable about Act4, but since purple foes worth are now nowhere as good as they were, there's less incentive to do them really.
