RotGClient on internode

Unread postby gremalisk » 2 Jul 10, 10:08 am

There is a problem with the Internode hosted RotG client in that it doesn't have the correct patch server configured in the Age of Conan/LocalConfig.xml file.

The problem is you get a permanent 'Downloading patch information' as it's because the beta patch servers are still in there.

The first five headers need to be altered as follows:

<HttpPatchAddr> http://aoc-us-update.live.ageofconan.com/upm </HttpPatchAddr>
<ClientHttpPatchAddr> http://aoc-us-gameupdate.live.ageofconan.com/upm </ClientHttpPatchAddr>
<ControlHttpPatchAddr> http://aoc-us-control.live.ageofconan.com/upm </ControlHttpPatchAddr>
<HttpPatchFolder> AoCLiveUS </HttpPatchFolder>
<UniverseAddr> aoc-us-um.live.ageofconan.com:7000 </UniverseAddr>

hope this helps someone and saves them 15GB download! 8)

Last night i got an email from FUNCOM offering me a 10day trial of Godslayers and thought i'd give it a shot, maybe some of the faults have been fixed, I mean it isn't that bad of a game.
I was happy to see that internode was hosting the tiny client :dropmouth: lol... After downloading the game(8hours  )I Was pretty excited to play my old friend again... But when I tried to launch the game it wouldn't update, I was thinking to myself, I hope I don't have to spend 24hours working the damn thing out, lol. But to my surprise the first link i went in was yours and you'd already figured it out for me :D I thank you VERY MUCH for saving me a big headache!

yeah nice find. i actually just grabbed the .RDB files from the node client and moved them into my clean install from my old retail dvd's which had the same effect. still had to download a few gig of patches though.

as for the game, its changed so much since release, i feel pretty useless with my old geared out lvl 80 Conqueror i had to start a new character to get used to it all again. but in that time i've gone bored of it again lol. i dunno why i just stopped again, the longer i leave it the less i want to play.

I too got a free week email. I managed to find a copy of the LocalConfig on the official forums.
Seems my free week is not working as I can not log in O_o
I've reset my game password, so that is ok.
I can't see anything on the account page that indicates I've actually received free time tho. :(

ED: Bah, just had to wait a bit for the change to go through. Its all working, just in time for me to leave for work. Typical O_O

I'm playing on Wiccana which is one of the two PvE servers, usually on with my Bear Shaman Boglet. Where are you lot trying the game on?

I played for a hour or so. Had to start a new character (guess my old ones are wiped).
Didn't take long to remember why I never renewed my subscription.
Disappointing really.
