Mp login issue

G Day All,

So I picked up Crysis2 from EB yesterday as it was on special but am have extreme problems logging into it

Now I have all the Crysis games and have never had a problem logging in but this one won't accept my details so I hit the forgot pw button.....

MyCrysis sends me an email to change my password thats all good but now for some stupid reason its saying my email address is my username???

I go into edit profile and try and change my userame and it tells me an error has occurred so then I try logging into the game with my email and it says theres a problem with my details.

I can't ask for help on the MyCrysis forums as above its using my email as my username and I don't want to post anything so all the world can see my email, personally I see this as a breach of privacy as my email WAS NEVER MY USERNAME for the other crysis games.

This issue is most frustrating

Times change . A lot of sites these days use email addresses as login names, it just means less information they have to store. I've never had a problem with it on other forum sites - they dont display my email address in posts. You sign in, and then in your account information you select a display name. From a quick look this is what the MyCrysis site seems to do too.

As for the breach of privacy thing - have you ever had to list an email address for contact details when signing up to something in the past?

As to the actual sign in problem - sign in with the email address - or use a gamespyID if you have one - arent they useable with Crysis2?

Hi MrMoilT, yes you can use a gamespy account as a login but there are a couple of ways to fix the mycrysis login issue and possibly the simplest is the one offered by EA:

another option is to create a new account at mycrysis

if that doesn't work then probably the best option is to submit a support ticket directly with EA as the mycrysis support page redirects technical issues back to EA.

What on earth are you on?

Did you not read the part where I tried to change my username but it said an error occurred?

All websites require an email of some kind but this one is using mine as my username and I can't change it hence I cannot post because it will display it to the world.

no PwR server it's really only me, DJ and law at PwR that play C2; GON does have 10 servers and 2 are usually full most nights and if you need an admin quickest way to find us is on the PwR ts or steam, however, I still get the connectivity error bug so can only join mp 50% of the time.

Check their official forums and this has been ongoing since the damn demo!?

That's the error/bug I get 50% of the time I try and play mp, some days it connects other days it won't.
If you look in the file Game.txt in your main C2 install directory you'll probably see a long list of failed attempts to create a socket on a port to establish a connection with the mp main server.
And as you've already seen no actual solution has been offered for this although some that use ICS have noted that switching off ICS helps the issue, but it didn't really help me.

Cheers for that Brim, hopefully now they've Dx11 out the door they fix this issue for good.

I have seen that ICS solution but, my connection is through a router so no such luck.
Another suggestion was to delete Crysis 2 from the Inbound connections under the firewall advanced settings and then to re-add them but that made no change.
Hopefully it will just connect every other day for me.
