Crysis 2 End Battle Discussion ***(SPOILER ALERT)***

Unread postby Rnegade » 7 Apr 11, 8:23 am

Hi All,

Finally made the time to finish the SP campaign and I must say, I am a little dissapointed and the end battle. I was honestly expecting and hoping for a much harder battle of a monster alien creature, something new.

I enjoyed the battle against the 3-5 "Heavies", the packs of Middle weights and I thought the cloakers were just semi annoying, not hard however I was really expecting to get a **** load of big nasty mofos that would really challenge me but nope!

Just kill the heavies, the grunts and cloakers and then go to the big tower and jump in, sit back and watch end vid.

I mean, after Crysis 1 and Warhead where you battle that MONSTER on the ship this just seemed abit "dull" for the lack of a better word.

Now I might go back and do the hole thing on the hardest setting and see if that helps, i am sure it will a bit but with no big bad **** "boss" to tackle, i dont see it being that hard.

What did others think? Am I wrong or did i expect too much?

I will either go back and play some MoH or load up C2 MP and see if its improved.

Cheers,

Rne

Great ending loved it.
About the only reason why i played single player
Gameplay -5/10
Story 10/10
Its worth playing through it 4 the story... The invisible aliens were too easy.

The ending script must've been bugged for me. The tunnel opened up straightaway as soon as the cloaked guys appeared, so all I did was go into stealth mode and run up into the tunnel, finishing the game. Didn't have to kill anyone.

But yeah I wish there was some sort of super boss to fight. The ending was a bit of a anti-climax for me. Same with the inability to have a decent fight against Lockhart.

The tunnel might have opened for me also straight away but I chose to fight the enemies, roam around, look for weapons, spots etc. I was in no rush.

And agreed about the bad fight with Lockhart, that was a bit dissapointing. Was he shooting at you before you opened the door also and have you wondering WTF is that coming from???

Pretty sure he's supposed to shoot you through the door - it does tell you to put armour on before opening it, and he does have a gauss rifle.

I enjoyed the ending but would have loved some more variety in squids to kill.
I think it was worth the price and really enjoyed the story as it went along.

But totally agree.. No Boss made it feel like it was short changed at the end.

Finished sp over the weekend and overall fairly happy with how the game and story played out.
Some levels did feel rather lacking, the bridge one especially as it presented a very linear path with poor use of the vertical.
The player movement was good, the slide is a nice addition that I enjoyed using, however, the grab mechanism felt awkward and often you needed to pick the exact location where it allows you to climb.
The use of invisible walls is also disappointing, better level design could have avoided them and in some cases they seemed pointless ( out of the ashes, after you get out of the tank and are split from Tara the road outside the building you have to get up is cut in half by an invisible wall)
Story direction at times was confusing, and I still don't understand the need to kill Profit at the beginning and then wave him about at the end as a teaser, imo they would have been better to use Profit as the main character and developed his story.
Perhaps we'll get a better story in the next instalment, or at least some link back to the C1 characters.
and agree with comments about the lack of a boss, the plexi glass guy was pretty lame.
looking forward to a run through on "post human warrior" lol

also I did the sp campaign in 3D 1920x1080, and being my first 3D sp campaign was very impressed with how good it works (nvidia setup); probably not as good in mp as it just makes it harder to kill

"Profit"=Prophet (or did I miss some joke earlier in the thread regarding his name?)

When I got to Hargreave the first thing I noticed was the gun cabinet: "Hey, there's a gun in that glass cabinet. Hey, it's a MIKE - I could cook him through his statis pod with this. Aw, I don't get to because the building is going to asplode anyway and I'd better save my heat-ray ammo".

I would say i spent 40% of the campaign without earning the Nano points. I was really miffed how many times the next chapter would load and I would have lost the 2000-4000 points I had earnt and was busy saving.

I look forward to going back and doing it again on a harder setting for sure!

For steam it should be, but I can't see the save folder which is normally your character name.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\crysis 2\gamecrysis2\Profiles

For Disk install
On the old Crysis games..it was, so there should be a folder for crysis2.

I agree with the general concensus, great game, but there were harder parts earlier in the game than the final conflict, whereas I was expecting a build up to an epic battle like the previous crysis

I have to admit, I was also disappointed with the ending.

It really felt like it was lacking that challenging final battle. I mean, the game was great otherwise but it was basically killing mostly normal enemies and then that was the end of the game. Where was the big send off?
