YOUR Crysis2 Gaming Rigs / Settings / FPS

One of the most visually spectacular shooters made, and still able to make some fully grown Gaming Rigs cry in pain.

YOUR Crysis2 Gaming Rigs / Settings / FPS

Unread postby Rnegade » 25 Mar 11, 6:32 pm

Hey All,

Just updated my GPU today, I am downloading it from Steam now, interested to hear peoples system specs, settings and their fps / thoughts.

Cheers.

Mine will be as per my sig:
I5-750 @4GHz
Gigabyte P55M-UD4
Patriot 4GIG DDR3 2000Mhz
ATI Gigabyte HD6950 @ 1920*1200
Kingston SSD-VNow 128GIG

Cheers All, just want to gauge what people are getting to see how a few compare and whats "really" required for a recommended / average spec for this game for MP.

Intel Core i5 760 @ stock
8GB G-Skill RipJaws DDR3 1600 @ stock
Sapphire AMD 6970 2GB @ stock
ASUS Maximus III Formula
WD7500AACS x 3 in RAID5
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Running with the settings on Extreme @ 1920x1200 and its very smooth. I was pretty taken back by this (guess I underestimated my new GPU) and very happy with the result :)

DX, I agree!

Just played the 1st 30mins of single player at "Extreme" at 1920*1200 and WOW... HOW EPIC and awesome did it look?!?! I was SOOOO AMAZED at how smooth it was, its really great.

Like you, I think i underestimated the GPU :) - or the game is not as taxing and more polished then Crysis 1 was - a combination of both perhaps but either way.... WOW!!!

i7 930 @ 3.6 on air
6 gb triple channel Patriot Viper
EVGA X58 Classified
WD Raptor 300gb 10,000 RPM (primary)
WD Black 1000gb 7,500 RPM X 2 (data)
GTX 295 quad-sli (267.24 beta with cry2 sli profile)
SilverStone Strider 1500W
OS: Win 7 X64 Enterprise

I get about 120FPS on extreme...which is loads better than Crysis Wars where i got 60FPS with micro stutter. Cryengine 3 is fantastic imo...great optimization.
I can even run this on my old rig maxed out....and playable :)

How are you finding your FPS? Fraps isnt showing it for me, neither is xfire. Perhaps i need to update fraps or something?

I am going to load this up onto my spare box (i5-550 @3.8GHz, 4GIG DDR3 1600 Gskill, NVidia 9600GT, P55-UD4 and a RAID-0 setup) and see how that handles it. It will be played at 1280*1024 also.

Agreed, the CryEngine3 is great, even if its a console port and only DX9, its looking good and running great.

*Points to Sig*

I run triple screen 6200x1080 bezel corrected with

Code: Select all
g_skipintro = 1
i_mouse_accel = 0
i_mouse_smooth = 0
r_UseEdgeAA = 0
r_PostMSAA = 0
r_depthoffield = 0
pl_aim_acceleration_enabled = 0
cl_zoomToggle = 1
cl_crouchtoggle = 1
r_MotionBlurShutterSpeed=65
sys_spec_shading=3
sys_spec_gameeffects=3
sys_spec_objectdetail=3
sys_spec_particles=2
sys_spec_physics=2
sys_spec_postprocessing=3
sys_spec_shadows=2
sys_spec_sound=3
sys_spec_texture=3
sys_spec_water=2
r_TexMaxAnisotropy=16

In my system.cfg file. I get around 32 - 50 fps, occasionally dropping below 30 for a second or two. Surprisingly smooth, I honestly thought it would have run alot worse.

MSI Afterburner will also display your FPS. Also your GPU's heat, GPU usage, fanspeed, memory usage and clockspeed if you so wished. Also works with the G15/19/510 LCD screen.
