I did that pretty much right after I had it installed, but upon running Wars today it told me it wanted to "update". I waited a few minutes for it then ran the game, only to find this "update" was steam redownloading said intro videos...

Has this happened to anyone else?

I placed mine in a new folder, so right now I have two copies of those things taking up space. I'll have to go and delete the new folder... when I can be bothered.

That's a bit of a pain about the re-downloading of the videos. You could probably turn off auto updates for the game. You're going to see those videos more often than you're going to recieve updates for the game :P

Hmm yeah I was thinking something like that might happen if you screw around with the files, because Steam obviously doesn't know what you've done with them and thinks they are missing, hence redownloading them for you.

You didn't run an integrity check or anything? Don't see why it would be checking all the files without a reason to..

But yeah, as Shin suggested, try going into right-clicking the game, going to Properties > Updates and then select "Do not automatically update this game".

Press P to bring up the purchase menu. This can be done inside a bunker your team owns, in your barracks or in a facility your team owns. You can also build a reinforcement truck, which is a portable spawn point and allows you to purchase stuff from. :)

Same concept Jack. Edit the shortcut properties. In the target line it will say something like:

"C:\Prog.......\Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe"

Add -DX9 to the end of that target line.

"C:\Prog.......\Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe" -DX9

found a solution to the intro videos and it worked for me when i restarted steam 3 times last night, should i let everyone know or do ppl enjoy spending a minute watching those pretty screens.... ok no more pain

make sure u have file extensions showing then cut all of the intro stuff and put it in a different folder, go back to where the intro videos used to be and right click --> New --> text document... name the txt document exactly the same as 1 of those old intro videos, example BG.sfd (doing this at work hope thats right as i cant remember :P) and do that for each of the videos and make sure u have the .sfd at the end of it and that u have file extensions showing otherwise it will end up being BG.sfd.txt and that wont work.

Hope this helps.

What I did on old Crysis was just put a "1" at the end of the filename for each of the videos. That worked.

hey milk that used to work with the old crysis, but if u do that with Crysis Wars on steam, steam will just download the videos again because with the 1 infront of them steam thinks they arent there, but if u do what i suggested steam see's the file name and thinks they are there the game loads with no intros
