Yes, there's quite a few kinks in the system right now. Expect a Valve patch and some more tinkering by Hydra tomorrow.
If you can manage to get onto a server it runs really well. :D

Really enjoyed the games I had tonight. Some of the later waves are really tough if you don't have some firepower.

If you want to make a listen server type this in the in-game console:
map mvm_NAME;sv_lan 0;maxplayers 32;sv_pure 1;heartbeat;
OR
map mvm_NAME;sv_lan 0;maxplayers 32;sv_password PASSWORD;sv_pure 1;heartbeat;

use the sv_password one if you want a password. Replace PASSWORD with a password and NAME with a MvM Map name (You can see the map names when you go create a server in the main menu and look at the drop down list).

I'm a bad spy ordinarily and a worse one in MvM. :D

Just have Sniper to go. Started playing but got sick of failing and bailed. Sorry random people. :P

:lol: I thought you were doing well mythor! I think I should have changed from Medic because we were struggling with tanks. After you left we had a demo knight, couldn't even heal him due to the bot spam.

Was it just me or did changing weapons reset your upgrades?

Yes, changing weapons you have to upgrade the new one. If you change back the previous upgrades are still purchased, which is nice! But it's best to pick what you want to use and stick with it.

Well I just spent a good few hours playing this after managing to get onto a GameArena server, good fun!

Though I got abused for being a noob at it, which is nice for an ~10.5 hour old game now, but that guy was just angry and quit pretty quickly lol

It's pretty fun, I see at least a few hours of this in my future.

$4 off A+ rating D:

With the bot AI, kinda feels like I'm cheating playing as sniper. :P

Blech, kinda difficult to jump into Aussie servers right now. Might wait until things settle down a bit before having a go.

The default missions get a little repetitive after about 5 hours :D

They're reasonably challenging the first few play throughs but once you figure out how all the upgrades work it gets pretty easy. The good news is Valve shipped MvM with a few other missions, if change mission voting is enabled you can see them there.

The actual scripts behind the missions look really customisable so the community is gonna come up with some pretty awesome missions in time :)

Oh, so we were playing on normal then. Bring on advanced! And whatever endurance is. (survival?)

Just FYI there are no Mann Up servers in Australia currently. The issue is that Valve are currently the only ones able to run Mann Up servers, and they don't operate any in Australia. There's no announced plans to allow community server operators to run Mann Up servers so who knows when we'll get some.

I don't think there's anything stopping you playing on the Valve US or Europe servers though, other than ping :)

It's a pretty fun mode, but seems very easy. I'm hoping the advanced difficulty missions start appearing soon. I'm not sure it'll have the lasting replay value of standard TF2, but it's a nice alternative.

For those wanting to connect quickly, use the server browser and search for: Secure, not password protected, has users playing, is not full, australia, map "mvm" and then sort by number of players. As long as you don't pick ones which have 6+ players already then you should get in fine.

We will have a total of 28 MvM servers running soon. Looks like there are at least 20 running now with the other 8 coming on line soon.

What I ended up doing yesterday was loading up all GON servers and click autojoin on all of them and just wait... wait time was pretty small, a couple of mins. You just have to remember as soon as you get in to cancel all the other 'queues' otherwise you will get yanked away as soon as a spot becomes available. I missed closing one yesterday and went from playing with a good group to a mediocre gaggle. :|
