Yes, but less people in the trading game = less keys (and other items) bought ;) Why would I spend $$ on 14 keys to trade for that S. Huntsman when Valve are going to re-release it? I know I'd rather take my chances.

2 keys and 3 refined. They were only asking for (2 keys) and 2.1 refined but I offered more because I've got plenty of refined and it worked as they responded straight away. Lowest I'd previously seen was 3 keys and 3 refined so it was fine with me. The hardest part is I rarely hold on to keys as I usually buy them and use them straight away.

Again, knowing my luck the next set of crates will prob have S. GL's in them :P

They may not re-release any strange items in the salvaged crates for a long time I would think but the S GL was available in Series 19 which was just a normal crate so that's a possibility of coming around again.

You know there is a whole thread on the steam forums dedicated to buying and selling of crates? You may as well get something for them then just deleting them.

That's a good deal, especially considering 3 keys + 3 refined for a S. Grenade Launcher is over priced IMO (only worth 3 keys).

Whilst it is possible for Valve to re-release a S. Grenade Launcher, crate 45 appears to be the 'demo-man' crate and didn't have a GL, and I envisage future crates to focus on other classes.

Given Crate 40 is still droppable, I don't believe Valve will release those strange weapons again for a long time. Crates seem to be released for a period of just under 3 months, so it is possible Crate 40 will be withdrawn by the end of this month. The value will skyrocket after that so you might want to consider holding onto it a bit longer.

Also, I use this as a guide for item pricing: http://tf2spreadsheet.blogspot.com.au/

It is updated daily, if not regularly, and seems to be used by most people as the guide for price checking.

I have been trying to get rid of my (30+) crates on the steam forums, as well as in trading servers for ages now, no takers at all.

Ended up deleting them, they appear to be worthless.

Are you selling them for dirt cheap? Like 10 for a scrap or something?

I go through phases where I open crates because I'm looking for a particular strange weapon, and other times I don't bother because I have all the stranges I need. That's when I start accumulating crates and I just end up giving them away to random people by having a bit of fun on servers (i.e. trivia quiz, challenges, etc.)

not sure if this is any use to anyone but i've found it useful for crate dumps. There is a site, www.tf2r.com, it is a raffle site, i frequent it, no issues in terms of it not being legit, i had it recommended by several clan mates who i trust and looked at by a mate who didn't raise any concerns. You login with your steam details however this login is done via the site diverting you to steam community website and then you being diverted back, like tf2 outpost, so its covered by valve's security stuff.

You can do raffles for crates and anything else in particular you aren't interested in and you can enter raffles (read the rules and then read raffles descriptions to see if they are asking for a reputation requirement).

just another way to get rid of crates and give them to people who want them without bothering to sell them or just deleting them and having them lost, its what i do if friends don't want them.

i hope this post isn't an issue, like advertising or anything, i've found it useful myself.

+1 for tf2r!

Just don't get addicted and raffle off everything you own. I raffled off all my hats and 90% of my weps/metal. Cause I'm a bad ****

As train said, I also have a tonne of crates (mainly 42 - 45). I just delete them after a while so... if anyone wants to take them off my hands I'd be glad to drop them on you.

Also, I'm looking for those orgnament arnament (sp?) if anyone has one to trade :)
