It's a shame that i have had to register for the express purpose of sharing my dismay and disappointment at this action. The GON Combined ops server is the only ArmA2 server i play on.

I was on at the time it was shut down but had stepped away to the bathroom, so i missed the message posted in game, if anyone could share it so i had more to go on than just "Why is my favorite server gone"

Just go play on the AusArma warfare server if you really want to play. It lags less...

So it was shut down because people on the internet were behaving like people on the internet behave?

I can't think of any instances of abuse in the last few weeks, granted i can't see the opposite team's chat but the closest i can think of this weekend is people were annoyed at Elvis having set up a few rounds with params that were destabilizing the server.

ive had enuf of all the swearing and griefing and personal attacks name calling and general wankerish behaviour on the server

any more i see . you'll get yourself instantly added to the ban list

Seems best to shut down the server. It's overrun with griefers and idiots (swearing holds no water, what a pathetic excuse) and the GON admin staff are incapable of dealing with it
