Man, the average life counter on the dayz site is at half an hour. Is it really that low? I've been on this char for two days now...although I do see a lot of deaths occuring around cherno.

just so everyone knows the gon server is not saving yah character/ location

seems to be an issue with hive or something ... dunno

Rocket redid the site and it's slipping a digit, meant to be 4.5 hrs i think.

Server upgrades rolled out, no more waiting for half an hour to get a response from the server.

Rocket reckons 1.5.8 will be out by 11am AEST


I've been reading reddit, and from what I'm seeing, there seem to be more bandits in the US than there are over here. Any idea why this is?

Actually the non-GoN aus servers are quite bandity too. You have to remember though, only about 10% of players are bandits. So that's like, 5 players on each server, on average.

You also have to remember that "bandity" is a **** term, well over 50% of players shoot on sight, that's exactly what's turned me into a predator, sick of getting lit up because i'm alone and I have a nice weapon.

Spawned right near a medical centre, found an AKS-74U and a G17 in a guard tower. Helped another guy grab another 74U nearby and didn't get shot in the face! I'm determined to maintain my humanity and only shoot in self-defense (even if it gets me killed).

Lost everything minutes later when I discovered an abandoned farm nearby, came around a corner into a zombie on all fours, had to shoot, ten others descended and I ran outta ammo :(

Ive played for 5 hours total so far, an I've been killed 6 out of 8 times by "bandits" eg anyone with a gun that see's you move.The sum total of my wealth has been a pair of binoc's. LOL

Basically the Gon server is no different from any other. it is just shoot anything that moves.Ive been the "bad guy" in EVE for years, its nice to be the nice guy for a change.

But seriously, the harsh brutality of the world is amazing, the past two days I've been grouping up with Speed Ninja and a few others, and we've had some pretty epic moments, against both zed's and bandits.

Found a group and was on the way to cherno. But then it got really laggy and d/ced.

Got a few things to do in Cherno. Well one really.
