guys i'm late to the game. skimmed 37 pages of this thread.

i bought combined ops. which gave me Arma2 and Arma2 OA in my games list.

Do i need to install both? I can I make do with OA alone?

EDIT: move along nothing to see here. browsed the DAYZ forum.

run each least once so games set up ini cfg files

and im sorry im all outa helping new plalyers that install it and jump straight onto MP games and ask noob questions like how to aim and how to move and i cant see anything and where am i and how do i shoot where is the map what server is this is it dark i cant see whos shooting in cherno why cant i jump how do i goto 3rd person view.

Actually alt f4 is disabled in arma and doesnt quit :-)

Cos ppl holding down alt for moving view around then pressing f4 for squad guy 4 to give him a command

Sales for ArmA and BIS are great, but I'm tired of the **** Steam gamers buying it on sale, excitedly installing DayZ, and then asking everyone how to play the **** game.

Go and do the campaign, or at least some scenarios, and learn the game there you **** morons. -_-

That's nothing to do with new players and everything to do with lazy idiots, I'm sure there are just as many who know what they're doing but you never know it because they research their own **** or check the keybinds before they ask.

yeh ive only been playing for bout a week. never played arma2 before, ever. Had a little look at some of the scenarios and training missions - **** its definitely not the kind of game i'm used to, a lot more realistic/simulator type.

i generally dont ask dumb questions over chat - it just makes more sense to alt-tab and quickly look it up.

however, i do always ask "who's shooting in cherno?" , even if im 100kms away...

* On respawn, your flashlight spawns in your BACKPACK. I did this because nothing would have said NOOB more than all the new players running around in the day with torches with no idea what the **** to do.

You're the reason I hate so many people online. I bet you say "Alt F4 hurr" when someone asks a question ingame, or just make fun of them in some other way. It's not that hard to say 'x' to crouch, 'shift' to walk/run.

I hope this isn't the general attitude to new players at GON, especially from an Admin of the game in question. He didn't even ask about gameplay, and you instantly drop into snide remarks?

i'm a new player and i'm already sick of the stupid questions made by a majority of players.... ffs they can look that **** up and stop hassling people.

it does get tedious. i usually try to answer dumb questions for about the first 30 mins or so once im in-game, then my rage gets the better of me and i ignore chat.

I think starting now with out a pistol with these new super zombies is a bit stupid should of tried one or the other not both at the same time.
