Guild Wars 2 Release Date Announced

At long last, the highly-anticipated MMO Guild Wars 2 has been given a release date. According to a press release we received, the game is due for release on August 28. Developers ArenaNet will apparently be spending the remaining two months or so polishing Guild Wars 2 until it sparkles, which will include a final beta weekend from July 20-22. Check out the website for more details, and really anything you've ever needed to know about Guild Wars 2.

It plays very well from Australia. I've not encountered any latency problems.

Except if you're with Optus or using an ISP that uses Optus it seems. Those users have been complaining that the lag is pretty awful (lag spikes, rubber banding, disconnects and periods of up to a min or so of nothing happening).

As excited as I am for this i'm still not going to buy until I try. Hopefully they have trials or something for the game seeing as the beta ended up being closed.

With the beta you could always have pre-ordered, played in it and then cancelled the pre-order =-). Its what I did but that was to downgrade from collectors to normal.

and there's still another beta weekend on late July, so that will be the last chance to get a glimpse of the game through weekend beta.
