Calculate Your Embarassing Steam Backlog With This Handy Tool

Unread postby News Portal » 23 Jun 12, 11:09 am

There is a neat tool over here that has been designed by Lambent Stew, that will analyse your Steam profile to tell you some useful - albeit, potentially embarassing - information. It not only tells you how many games you own and how many hours you've played, but also what percentage, and number, of games you have never opened. Someone should find a way to combine this data with the data from Steam Calculator to work out just how much money we've wasted on games we've never even played.

Why you buy something you're not going to play? That's what pirating is for.

Says I'm at 43% played. But that's not accurate. It hasn't tracked games I played on Steam before steam started tracking properly.

There's also some games that I played not on Steam, but bought on Steam for convenience to access again in the future.

Interesting tool, but mine says I have not played half life 2 at all. Which I have. A lot. If they can work out the bugs, it would be interesting to know exactly how much time I have sunk into steam. The Steam calculator doesn't work at all for me. My 106 Games are apparently worth $0.00 USD

An interesting tool however its based off your Steam hours on your profile. Also does this may count SDKs because I have apparently never played 96 of my games whilst I admit I haven't played all the indie bundle games I have at least played most of them.

EDIT: It lists what games are on your account that it checks for hours played etc. Well it shows all the Borderlands DLCs seperately even though they all run with Borderlands itself so the figures may be a bit out.

EDIT EDIT: It appears most DLCs count as a seperate game and thus there are no hours for them.

I think it has trouble if your profiles are private. Mine shows my games, but that's it.

40% games un-played ... pretty sure all of those games come from indie bundles where I was only interested in 1-2 titles

Almost all of my unplayed games were betas, or games that I had actually played.
