Gotta figure out my donor number, will sign up as soon as I have it. And unless I'm beaten to it, I'll post up some info on plasma and marrow donations later, they're just as important and just as under-resourced.

I used to give blood regularly, got to 50 donations and got a mug but since they stopped giving a beer I stopped. It's un Australian, If someone helps you out whats the first thing you offer? It's probably a decision made by some do gooder behind a desk or lawyer!

If you are donating blood then you should definately consider joining the Bone Marrow Registry as well, it's a very simple process to get tissue typed. The next step if you ever do get matched with someone is a very important decision, but you may have the chance of saving someone's life, for a short period of pain.
