Blacklight: Retribution Coming to Steam

The free-to-play shooter Blacklight: Retribution will be coming soon to Steam, according to developer Zombie Studios. An estimated date for the move was not given, but the Steam version will have its own achievements and exclusive in-game items. Massive +1 from me, especially now that it has Australian servers. Great gameplay, great visual aesthetic.

Steam should give the alteady healthy player pop a boost too.

Currently playing This and Tribes and I've put $10 into tribes and havn't put any into Blacklight yet but I've still been able to get top scores most of the time. The starting weapon type you get the Assault rifle is very effective and gives even new players a chance without having to pay anything ant all.

Yeah, basic kitouts are fantastic, the only reason I'd buy anything is to unlock the bolt-action sniper rifle but I'm slowly accruing in-game cash to buy it anyway... which is good for the devs as it ensures people are playing and that will attract more people who will pump in actual money... that's what I say anyway

I really like how you can use in-game currency to rent every bit and bolt for varying periods of time as it lets you assess it before you pay the full price or real cash price... and the unlock packs are even better at keeping people playing.

There is currently 30 Aussie servers and its been great fun playing with low ping.

Also if you play before July there are some rewards.

Struggle to understand why they can't just let IsP's host, the cost must be nearly ruinous for a F2P.

In the latest Patch minute, Official Steam release date will be July 2nd.

There is a couple of new things coming also like steam stats, some new weapons and gear also.
