Steamworks Patch for Civilization V Arrives

The much-touted patch to Civilization V to enable Steamworks and mod support is here, and brings with it a slew of bug fixes and tweaks at the same time. Been many reports of people loading their save game ofter this patch - only to find their current civ to be someone else, affecting their overall stats and strategy.

I was lucky, only my neighbour civ, former known as the Mongorians, suddenly became the Babylonians.... no fix afaik has been issued.

Patches usually screw up saved games. It's a problem with steam mostly because it auto updates you can't finish a game before doing your update.

Steam's always pissed me off that way, I get the point of enforcing patches for MP games so everybody's playing on the same code in order to minimise exploits, but if I want to keep playing my SP game with an old patch to to finish a certain scenario or to keep certain mods working, then I shouldn't be forced to upgrade.
