CS:GO Open Beta Coming Soon, New Fix Inbound

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team continue to be hard at work since announcing the release date of August 21. A new update has been rolled out today and more fixes are on the way, including a "major audio update" and new characters. Pre-orders are expected to open up around July 21, with an open beta scheduled for some time between then and the August 21 release date.

the last batch of improvements made it more enjoyable than source IMO. Not sure it'll ever reach the lofty heights of awesome achieved by the original though.
