Black Mesa: Source Reveals First Screenshots In, Like, Forever

After holding the general public ransom for 20,000 'Likes' on their Facebook page, the team behind the Duke Nukem Forever of mods, Black Mesa: Source, have finally released some new screens for their (eventually?) upcoming game. We've got a Gargantua, Bullsquid, Grunts, and even a little cameo from the G-Man himself. Click on through to check them out.

Just wanted to point out that it's not called Black Mesa: Source any more, just Black Mesa, due to Valve asking them to take Source out of the title so that there's no confusion over whether it's a Valve official game or not.

Black Mesa is just.. Half Life, with better graphics isn't it? Would be good if this ever came out, I never played Half Life.

I think the biggest problem with Black Mesa is that from what I've read in the past is that they've been trying to release the game with multiplayer support as well.

Sure I would like MP support but I would gladly give it up if it meant they released the game now, as would I'm sure everyone else.

Sadly they've slipped in to joke status now.

Upsetting. I remember this was announced within weeks of HL2 release. I have been back and forth from the mod sites, homepage, myspace, twitter, facebook and so on and so forth since it's announcement. I stopped about 3 weeks ago, no lie, and then this has generated false hope.

No, that's what "Half Life Source" is. This is "Half Life REMADE" which means reimagining of maps, new (completely new) audio including voice acting, no reusing of any Half Life or Half Life 2 resources (or if they are reused they are minor).

My issue is this better be the best god damn mod every made because the wait since 2009 (when they released the trailer) has been too long for them to have not done significant work.
