Unread postby News Portal » 3 Jun 12, 10:16 am

PC players will get to enjoy Portal creator Kim Swift's next puzzle-piece on June 21, while PS3 and XBox 360 owners will have to wait until "TBA" resolves itself into an actual date. You can now pre-order it on Steam for $13.49 (10% off), or the season pass, which includes soundtrack and two upcoming DLC's, for $17.99.

Excited to play this game, heard many good things about it.

I'm surprised nobody's crying out about pre-planned DLC and more importantly that I'm actually considering buying it. :p

It does actually raise some interesting questions that might make for an interesting article. Why do games like this cop less flack for announcing planned DLC than others? Is it about the developers, and their public image? Is it about how people perceive the value of the game itself? Why do games like this attract less negative attention? Is it because it's more of a niche game, and therefore people are just less interested in making a fuss about it?

It's because they have not stated that the DLC is completed as of release, it's planned DLC. In cases where people are complaining, it tends to be exclusive DLC to certain pre-orders, or day one DLC, or DLC that is embedded within the code of the shipped game, etc. DLC is fine, just not an evil way to make more money on release day.

Dont forget HATSHATSHATSHATSHATS.

In all seriousness, as soon as I found out an ex-Portal designer was working on it I pre-ordered it. I mean, Gravity, Dimensions, space and time! It's like playing a 3D Puzzle Adventure within a Time Vortex. :)

It's a bit harder to complain about pre-planned DLC when the game is $15 and it is only $5 more for a sound track and 2 DLC packs.

Game looks really interesting, can't wait to try it out.
