Developer Survey Reveals Reluctance to Work on Wii U, Praise for XBox 720

Unread postby News Portal » 3 Jun 12, 10:04 am

A survey conducted anonymously by IGN of major video game developers found that a huge majority of them not only claimed that Microsoft's next console is the easiest to work with, but that it would remains as sales leader for the next five years. Additionally, 63% of respondents claimed the Wii U to be the most challenging to develop for, with one respondent even claiming that they "won't be working on the Wii U due to complexities". Interesting stuff.

Yeah man, I mean it's not like the PS3 has received similar complaints yet has gone on to not be a flop. :?

It may be to do with the fact its hardware is so far behind everything else (at least the rumoured hardware).

I think it's probably more a case that's it's just simply different like the Cell architecture is, that and possibly the TV on the controller is hard to program for (hard to synch the proper info etc).

And the PC is sitting pretty with absolutely no change required.

idk about u, but ill need a gpu update sometime b4 next gen hits :( my 480gtx cant run crysis 2 directx 11 maxed or max payne 3 maxed, plays them ok on average settings. the rest of my pc is good, 16 gig ddr3 1066 ghz? n i7 960 overclocked to 4.8

the only reason i still play pc over consoles is directly because of the controllers, i refuse to give up m+kb

don't get me wrong, I would if I could :P

I do feel like my rig has held up admirably though, I still haven't reached the point where I literally can't play something I want to. In fact to this day Crysis is probably the game that has taxed my machine the most lol.

I look forward to hopefully having less driver related issues more than anything. Also for some reason Crysis lags for me in big battles where my friend with an nvidia 9800GTX does not. I believe its either poorly done drivers or poorly optimized for dual card setups (as someone I know with SLi has poor performance with 2xGTX480s).
