Activision Reaches Confidential Settlement With West and Zampella, Life Goes On

Unread postby News Portal » 2 Jun 12, 11:03 am

Games journalists everywhere were devastated to hear that the court case of Activision vs. West/Zampella had been resolved with a confidential settlement early on Friday morning, denying us all of much needed legal drama. Naturally, however, EA chimed in on the matter: "Activision’s refusal to pay their talent and attempt to blame EA were absurd. This settlement is a vindication of Vince and Jason, and the right of creative artists to collect the rewards due for their hard work." West and Zampella at least are pleased to have the matter behind them, commenting only to say that they would be getting right back to work.

In regards to EA's comment to Activision - It's kind of like the devil trying to make Hitler look like a douche isn't it?

As for this whole sorry debacle, good riddance.

My understanding from all this was that IW didn't want to make MW3 right away, they wanted to put it down and do some new IP.

Activision with a billion dollar franchise didn't want this, so they came up with a way to force IW to make MW3. Which was basically try and forfeit their bonuses MW2 earned them and have that pay go towards making MW3.

After IW wouldn't have this they fired the top 2 (can't remember their names) which they said voided their contract bonuses for the rest of IW.

Them been accused of going to EA was the easiest way for them to be fired.

I hope Respawn entertainment make some new awesome games and not just another god damn modern warfare shooter. MW2 was boring same old, MW1 was amazing and revolutionary. Without the chains of their former masters I hope they can break the mould once again. Remember Activision didn't want IW to make a modern shooter, they wanted to keep COD in WW2.

Activision may be douchebags but they're not as bad as EA.

Anything that Respawn brings out will most likely be run through Origin.

And? 3/4 of my games on STEAM, I can't play because "The game is unavailable right now", how the **** is Origin any worse than that?

I've had that problem before. I think it's a bug with your version of Steam, rather than with Steam in general.
I ended up having to reformat my PC to get it to work again, which suggests the problem was with my computer rather than Steam itself. I don't know if that will help you.
