So you know that Company of Heroes 2 has been announced, and you know you control the Russian Red Army, attempting to repel the Nazis from the very gates of Moscow. But what else would you like to know? We'll be interviewing the team later this week, and we'd like to put your questions to them. Drop us a line in the comment threads to let us know what you'd like us to ask, and we'll do our best to get them answered. Get cracking!

I'd love to know if there is any cross over with the Eastern Front Mod.

Also like to know if we will still be able to play as the UK and US.

Will there be significant improvement to multiplayer lobbies, lag and connection issues that plagued the last COH?

Will their be a new ranking system/leaderboard?

Is "want want" like "like like"?

Will it just be the two factions like original COH?

Will multiplayer have a check-sum type deal to stop the rampant maphacking?

Will you use any of the awful COHO unlock stuff?

Are you using the same stealth system (Invisible units can move even in the open, you can drag a stealth AT gun across an open field and as long as they don't bump into anyone they are invis)?

Are you using the same lookup table type damage system as in COH or streamlining it?

If anyone gets the port forwarding issues they had in COH are you aware that you will be literally murdered by them?

Will there be any unit customisation/army patch type things like DOW?

Will there be a battles mode or something similar to the Total War series where you can purchase an army with X value and fight them out, no objectives no resources tabletop wargame style?

Will air units be implemented in the same way or reworked?

You're not adding melee, are you?

Will you be adding any sort of maintenance/attrition style mechanic to represent the terrain conditions?

I was wondering who Want was and why they would want our questions. Or, more importantly, why Want would want to give GON our questions.

Id like to know if weather conditions will affect a use range and offensive and defensive capabilities. even if its different per map or a dynamic weather cycle in MP or even if there will be a dynamic weather system.

will a certain russian sniper Vasily Grigoryevich Zaytsev will be a commander unlock for the russians.

Is there any chance of Seeing a Rail gun such as Dora.

* Do the Germans have the same factions and associated powers as in the previous title (ie Blitzkrieg, Terror, Defense) or are they all new?

* What kind of new German units can we expect (eg Elefant, Panzer III etc)

* Will the Axis minors involved in the conflict be involved (eg Romania, Italy etc).

I'm curious how/why you settled on the Eastern Front. For some reason I'd always assumed that a new COH would be set in the Pacific theater of operations.

What differentiates this from the original and makes it a true sequel rather than just CoH1.5. The original was dang near perfection with little obvious areas that it could be expanded excluding technical things.

Speaking of which, has the pathfinding been improved? I oh so loved my tanks driving everywhere destroying my infantries cover. :(

Also what about scale? Has the scale increased or decreased? eg: map size or unit count etc.

My biggest frustration with CoH (can't comment on the online play because I never tried it) was with buildings. Are there any plans to enact a much-needed overhaul to how units enter, occupy and leave buildings? Examples:

  • An infantry unit can enter a building almost instantly by kicking down a door, climbing through a window or similar. Once they are inside they will take a while to set up positions and fire out. In CoH they bottlenecked at the door for a few seconds before immediately assuming their positions and firing.

  • A unit can be positioned within a building. They can be made to protect the ground floor from would-be trick or treaters or stay up top to get a better shot with panzerschrecks. This could be a graphical representation of a simple offensive/defensive switch.

  • The ability to position non-MG units like MGs (facing one side) would be great. Unlike previously with some men hanging around uselessly on the wrong side of the building while their friends are seeing all the action.

  • Greater choice in where units can exit a building. Doors are quick but often open onto vulnerable ground, windows are slow but can be a sneaky escape from a waiting MG. If two buildings have windows very close the units can run across although they would need to spend some time not firing to set up the bridge with a door or plank. This would be great for 'behind enemy lines' type missions. Perhaps moving a squad of soldiers through an occupied city (Stalingrad?).

Are they going to follow any semblance of realism this time?
IE:
will .303cal weapons still be able to destroy light armoured vehicles?
will the 40mm bofors and 17pdr AT emplacement have more range then a rifle?
will brits be able to repair bridges without having to build several expensive items first?

basically, will things actually make sense this time?
