Unread postby News Portal » 9 May 12, 1:09 pm

Offering 7.1 virtual surround sound in a single, affordably-priced headphone kit, the Gamecom 780 seems like an appealing choice. We popped our skull into their phonic grasp and had a listen to everything they had to say.

I always get disappointed when I read about yet another USB gamers headset.

I want to use my $ sound card on board/USB sound cards suc  !!
I also have various USB peripherals connected to my simulator and
even my USB hub is full although I acknowledge the latter is not the norm
for most gamers.

I would like to disagree with the build quality aspect. I bought this headset after my Megalodon eventually broke. It lasted three weeks before breaking. My Megalodon lasted a year and a half. That Plantronics is by far the worst headset I have ever had in terms of build quality. I got it as a segway between my Megalodon and the new Tiamat that may or may not release before the eventual heat death of the universe.

My best cheap headphones have been my alessandros. I have no affiliation, but Headphoenes.com.au are awesome. Forums there are nearly as good as here, well, for people who like da headphones.

Senip backwards.

My Megalodon is still going strong. Longest lasting headset I've had by far. I want the Tiamat though, why are Razor being soooo slow on it :(

Reading any review of a "gamer headset " makes me cringe. It really comes down to the saying ignorance is bliss, anyone in the competitive scene will tell you to buy a set of headphones and a clip on mic. For under $150 the audio technicas ath AD700s are absolutely amazing. And I'm sure a lot of people here would agree. Also a high end xonar soundcard will totally change your game around. From fps games to rts.

virtual 7.1 surround sound

Pass. Can't deliver the same sense of surround sound as a true surround headset (like the Turtle Beach Z6A).

I'll wait for the Razer Tiamat 7.1. Already got my preorder in at EB.

Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201
