again, for the masses. The masses don't build their own pc, they buy them from a store. No $500-$700 pc from a store will play games all that well, if at all. It's just easier to plug in a console, switch it on and go. Your average joe doesn't need to worry about minimum specs and what not. They know if they have an Xbox and the game they pick up says Xbox, it's going to work. I speak from experience, as I see the masses buy pcs all day and about 1% of those are for games.Spooler wrote:@ Toad
Now maybe at the start of a console generation, not really tho $500 bucks and I can get you gaming on a PC.
If you don't care about hi res displays I can do it for even less if you are willing to have a small display 17" I can do it for even less again.
Is it a Tri GPU rig with an overclocked 8 core bulldozer processor running 6 displays in 3d ? Nope but I guarantee it will run any current gen game in reasonable quality with 30-40 frame rates.
There is an implied expense in PC gaming which is simply false everyone has a pc of some sort in the First world they are almost bare essentials.
Also really ? we hook my desktop up frequently and have games of dungeon defenders with each other sitting on the lounge all the time ? Maybe you just don't know how to do it effectively with a pc
Also, games on pc where four people can play together at once on a single screen are generally few and far between. Consoles on the other hand, I can see about 5-6 in my collection alone. I understand how to do effectively, I just can't be bothered moving my pc every time my friends come over. Not to mention we each have a console controller each which makes it so much easier on consoles.
