Ok, here's how it's gone for myself:

Originally on...

$59.95 per month, 150GB no contract ADSL2+ Naked plan

changes due to an alleged change in TW pricing to...

$69.95 per month, 150GB no contract ADSL2+ Naked plan

and now, not that long after internode are offering...

$59.95 per month, 150GB 24month contract ADSL2+ Naked plan.

Yea, I'm quite put out by that pattern. It looks like nothing more than a tricksy attempt to lock in a customer base.

Even more aggravating when the NBN pricing comes in at $74.95 for 300GB on a 25/5 speed (yea different network & dealing with NBN Co instead of TW, its still data either way).

So far I've emailed Internode re the increase & got a stock standard "blame telstra" response (to your credit, professionally phrased), and now seeing this called up & got a polite but ultimately helpless call center rep.

Really guys, what's going on?? once FTTP is up and running you won't have the oh so lovely annex M's as a draw card, what then?

Still no love from internode unless I move back to a major capital.
Pitty.
Guess I'll keep checking every other month to see if they are ever going to offer competative prices or download quotas in my area.

Is there anywhere that tells you what exchange has been updated?

The coverage checker still thinks i'm connected to an exchange where actually I go through a sub exchange which is useless :(

That one comes down to when TW (Telstra Wholesale) release new pricing that is actually competitive and not anti competitive.

I'm on Reach, and yeah it doesn't seem as competitive as other ISPs price wise (love the node service though :)). So is Telstra screwing over internode in particular? Why can't node offer the same rates as IINET for example?? Heck, I'd be happy just to be able to bundle the phone/net together, but apparently I can't do that either with Node...
