+1

What happened to Crysis 1 telling us the aliens like the cold, fly around and aren't humanoid? Oh that't Crysis 2 happened...

Now they are continuing the damn thing. Sorry EA/Crytek, Crysis 1 was where it was at.

Let's give them a chance... one last time...

however to be honest, the part that REALLY draws me in Crysis 1 that was missing big time wasn't the visual, and it wasn't JUST the sandbox either, it was the combination of the wide open space AND the ENEMY AI inhabiting it... ie: the lovable poor North Koreans who got

punched, flattened, shot, stabbed, stalked, hunted down, blown off, thrown off the cliff, frozen, rammed by a very large and heavy object at terminal velocity among other things.

Aside of the fact that Crysis 2 felt really confined comparatively, it's enemies were also disappointing to be honest... i never really enjoyed killing them, the enemy soldiers hardly had any sort of emotion tone at all or exhibit any sort of emotion including in their speech, while the Ceph... well... jellyfish in exosuit, and they don't even said a damn word when we massacred them, they were just mooks in the way, a hindrance even to the game's enjoyment... well whatever was left to be enjoyed anyway in Crysis 2 which wasn't that many aside of being relatively pleasing to look at.

I enjoy Crysis games up until the aliens show up.

The plot was icy thin from the start (Island-Hopping North Koreans with Nano-Suits, okay...) but that's all forgotten when the three-dimensional space invaders arrive.

The aliens could as well be robots or monsters or whatever, just these shiny fast moving things that take heaps of bullets to go down.

So now we've got something like Escape From New York meets Alien vs Predator.

Oh well, It looks pretty and should make for another interactive benchmarking tool.

lol, sorry, had to :D

They upped the anti: http://youtu.be/cJpu7N96rEM?t=4m37s :P Why stop at freezing an island when you can elevate one a few hundred feet off the ground. You want something to throw Ceph off of, try that 8)

Also, the true alien form can be seen in the Core level in C1 (compare the jelly from C1 to the jelly in C2 and you'll see the similarity), everything else is exo-suit and the reason for them switching from big airborne squids to bi-pedal units was because they adapted to the environment they needed to secure - the cities, where all the meat is.

Many people think the game/story was gutted in Crysis 2. That's wrong. It was explained more and expanded on more. People forget that this is a sci-fi story involving alien technology which is automatic explanation for most things "wtf". In addition, it's a game with actual story and depth (alternative: zomg Russians stole a nuke and we have to kill everyone!) which many have trouble following/understanding (which is fine, i had to have the Matrix explained to me, no shame) but to write it off as stupid/inconsistent because it's not understood ain't right.

The amount of people wtf'ing at Prophet being in Crysis 3 is prime example of people not following the story. There's plenty of story info available on the web, the Crysis wikia page is a good source. You can be sure with the 3rd installment there's going to be more "wtfbbq" coming so pay attention ;)

eh, as I keep stating for me it was that the visual style of them WAS scrapped. They were FROZEN in nature (their space ship was cold inside, they turned the island to ice), their visual style and nature changed. It's like they are 2 completely different alien forces. Yeah, under the suits they are the same, but that's like saying that fighting North Koreans and CELL are the same enemies. They're not. Their nature is different. But with the aliens it's even more apparant. It's like going from fighting those Sentinels in The Matrix to Elites from Halo. They feel like different aliens. Crysis 2 doesn't feel like it belongs to Crysis, but is set in an alternate universe.
