Was checking it out yesterday. I have pretty high standards now that I'm level ~80 in archery in Skyrim (saying that I've used it a lot, not that I'm good with it) and alls I can say is it was fun to use and gives plenty of... options :D

I haven't played Crysis 2 yet but i've heard enough about the story to be unimpressed with how utterly irrelevant it is to the original. It's a blatantly new franchise with everything being wiped clean for the console crowd. But again I ask, just with the Thief 4 thread, why bother doing this instead of creating a new franchise? All you managed to do was p!ss of the actual Crysis fans and the newcomers didn't care one way or the other.

Also I hate silent protagonists. It's supposed to increase the immersion but it actually kills the immersion when people talk to you and you say nothing back.

Finally authors and Hollywood writers need to get the f*ck away from games as they rarely do a good job. Even assuming they are good writers they always seem to bring their B game as they just don't seem to care or understand how games work. From what i've heard Crysis 2's storyline seems dull, cliched and silly. Although I really shouldn't say that until i've played it but a virus? Really?

Obv.

Play it first, then have an opinion. I liked the direction it took the story and am very interested in where 3 takes it. It IS a contiguous storyline.

Refer back to the first quote.

You're mean. :( But seriously i've been told enough about the story to have a decent enough understanding of it. I will get it to get a proper opinion and I will eat my words if need be but from what i've been told it's completely different from the original.

So do you ever watch movies or read books for your own entertainment, or just read the headlines and live off other people's opinions? :P I'm a sucker for entertainment regardless, I watched The Room because I KNEW it would be terrible.

That passive aggressiveness isn't cool. I was given decent details on how some of the plot went, far more than a 'headline'.

Dude will you guys just effing chill? Honestly. I've already stated that I haven't played the game, I was in no way completely analyzing every minute plot detail but merely stating that from what i've been told about the overall plotline that it was practically a brand new franchise because basically nothing was the same (where the eff is Nomad and Psycho? and don't start about the comic, that's irrelevant for this argument).

Ok fine, maybe I shouldn't have said anything before I played the game and knew every tiny detail about the story but you guys are taking it personally like I insulted your mother or something. Honestly just take a chill pill and give it a rest. I'll be happy to give a thorough report on my feelings on the game and story (and have already stated i'll be happy to eat my friggin words if wrong) as I always do when I play and complete it but in the mean time just please, calm the f*ck down.

Pretty calm here bro, you on the other hand don't seem to be.
Not taking it personally at all. I just see that you haven't played the game, and heard from someone about the story. Then you're happy to **** and moan about the story and what not.
Seriously though, what Shin said couldn't be more spot on

That last bit of your post wasn't needed but yes I agree, I did overreact and i'm sorry. In my defense I was very tired at the time and was getting sick of people constantly bringing up what I considered to be a closed issue.

But even so you can easily get an understanding for most of the story just by someone telling you bits and pieces of the general themes and such, I don't understand why that's even being argued against.

Just for you guys i'm starting Crysis 2 today just so I can get the complete story and see whether my assessment was wrong or not.

I formulate my always strong opinions on my own and I thought i'd be known strongest for that fact. :/

It's pretty insulting to me being told I formulate my opinions based on others opinions so that's why i'm pretty p!ssed over the matter. I formulated an initial (and as I have already admitted incomplete) opinion based on what people have revealed about the plot, NOT on their attitude towards said plot points.
