Piracy? It was ****, and I didn't even bother pirating it.

Epic: I have a link from TorrentFreak you may want to have a look at.

Various sources claim that piracy in France has been cut by approximately fifty percent and yet France's music industry has a drop of 3.9% and their movie has dropped by 2.7. Yeah, I can definitely see how from real world result of the minimisation of piracy will, without a doubt, equate to everyone buying your game :/.

I think a few '[Citation Needed]' boxes need to be dropped in that statement from Epic…

Do they not see the correlation?

Modern Warfare 3 was the most pirated game of 2011. I don't recall claims of it being a bad PC port, so how does that fit?

I think people were more focused on hating the game in general rather than looking at whether it was a decent port or not.

That's exactly the point. Modern Warfare 3 was a very popular game well-received by its fans, so sold exceedingly well. Even if it was pirated heavily, it was still one of the most profitable games of the year.

In contrast, Bulletstorm was not received well on several grounds. So these factors should be looked at first before piracy.

Technical problems aside the actual game was very fun. It is a shame they wont make a second game.

this

I was thinking the exact same thing phx has stated. I have pirated titles but THIS game was not even worth pirating as sticking a boot up someones face or a** is a joke. I knew like some people that this game would never sell in the AAA profit margins and Epic themselves last year stated that PC is not their priority. IF its not their priority then get lost and do console only games and don't blame piracy because the games that ARE pirated ARE the games that get purchased down the track. games that suck like bulletstorm are hardly not pirated because they are sh**.

Wouldn't that be a breach of the EULA? Not that I have read it but decrypting game files normally counts as part of the standard 'reverse-engineering' clause.
