BioWare to Address Dragon Age 2 Concerns in DA3, Move Setting to Orlais

A PAX East panel on what a "hypothetical Dragon Age game might contain" has unleashed a variety of "entirely hypothetical" new information about where Dragon Age III "might be going". If you know what we're saying. Specifically, BioWare stated that they heard you all loud and clear on DA2's recycled environments and claustrophobic feel, as well as the boredom of Kirkwall's setting. The next DA game, hypothetically speaking of course, is to move somewhere described as "more French". Orlais, anyone? And, of course, follower equipment is set to make a return. Hypothetically.

Never bought DA2, don't intend on ever doing so either. I'm just going to carry on pretending it never happened. I really hope the 3rd is a return to form and doesn't become even more Mass Effecty.

Oh and speaking of DA2, the setting was suggested by Sandal's father saying they got an offer to be employed by the court of Orlais.

Try playing the demo first, DA2 had a demo and from that demo I knew I didn't want to play the game, it also turned me off any interest in playing the first game even if it's supposed a completely and utterly different (and superior) game.

Well I actually liked DA2 and it's story (but not it's re-use of assets).

The protagonist's motives are clear and easy to relate to - a refugee trying to protect their family. Completely failing at that on my first playthrough really had an impact on me. Having every family member die one by one while trying to help others turned my character from helpful to spiteful, hell-bent on starting fights wherever possible.

The only part of DAO I found remotely relatable was the political slant with the elves. The grey warden stuff was a generic fantasy yawn-fest in my eyes. Call them genlocks if you like, they're still orcs. How any adult writer could have churned out the Andraste's Ashes plot line is beyond me. The only thing in the world that can cure the arl? That, somehow, no one else has found? Give me a break.

I hope they take the best from both games for the third. And the parkour from SWTOR. I don't like the impenetrable pebbles that have been a cornerstone of BW games since forever.

I still only intend on buying DA2 if they release a full-DLC GOTY type pack and I can get it for $5 AUD.

Id like to see origin stories return, along with being a dwarf. aside from that exactly like Dragon Age 2, bar the repeat levels and im sold.
