Slightly Mad's Crowd-Funded Racer Rakes in Over $600K

Crowd-funded games might be all the rage at the moment after Tim Schafer gave the conventional publishing model the ol' one finger salute, but he certainly wasn't the first to go straight to the fans to get a project off the ground. Slightly Mad Studios, the developer behind the critically praised Need for Speed: Shift, kicked off funding for an ambitious racer by the name of [app=8695]Project CARS[/app] last October, and are happy to report that they have already raised in excess of half a million Euros.

BTW this is seriously good quality. Soon they're changing their business model though, so get in now if you still want to try out their work before final release :)

I can't agree with you enough :icon14:

The topic in our racing forum is pumping, I'm glad to see plenty of GON people loving this game, even during the Alpha :shock: :)

TBH the game is more polished during it's alpha than most racing games upon release (yes EA I'm looking at YOU). It's astonishing how far the project has come and how good it's looking, both visually and in gaming terms.
