Skyrim Update 1.5 Kill-Cams it Up

Unread postby News Portal » 16 Mar 12, 11:51 am

The next major update for [app=7846]Skyrim[/app] is 1.5, and while there’s typically a lot to it, one thing above all else is looking mighty fine indeed: Kill cams. Bethesda’s favourite new feature does exactly what you’d expect, working to give you a cinematic view of your whirling dervish handiwork. A beta version of the update is available right now on Steam, and will be “arriving soon” for the PS3 and Xbox 360 set.

Looks like Skyrim is jumping on the COD bandwagon (pretty sure COD4 did killcams first).

There are already kill-cams in Skyrim btw... just like there were in Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3.

Max Payne did it way before COD4, and IIRC Hitman did it before Max Payne.

Didn't BF1942 have Killcam?

And yes, as Sathias points out, Skyrim already had killcam for melee kills. This patch adds it to ranged kills: "New cinematic kill cameras for projectile weapons and spells."

edit: Although the notes do also say "New kill moves and animations for melee weapons". *shrug*

I wouldn't be so hasty to try a beta update for skyrim. Odds are it will ruin your current playthrough or if you start a new one your progress may be lost.

One of my disappointments was the lack of kill cams. Awesome patch is awesome.

After leveling my sneaky thief dagger guy i got bored, as no kill cinematic with daggers or bows

Up til last week iv been leveling a 2 handed barbarian and REALLY enjoy it, always get alot of 1 hit stabs and lifting them up. Pretty awesome

Now i see this new update.. oh god cant wait
