Brendan Keogh stomped into Piranha Games' booth at the 2012 Game Developer's Conference overnight making robot noises, and was immediately directed to the [app=8712]Mechwarrior Online[/app] booth for a demonstration of the first MechWarrior title in ten years.

wow...I was a little hesitant to get my hopes up for the mechwarrior rebirth, but now I'm fairly damn amped!!

Doubt there will be a negative comment in this thread. It's just so cool and the original artwork backs up the nice screens too.

Well let's hope they at least get the role of the mechs and the mix better than world of tanks, because in world of tanks when push come to shove, ultimately there is no use for some of the tank class (like light tanks) despite their intended role because the other tank class can do the job good enough and contribute more in other fields the light can't do.

The theory is nice, but in world of tank case, the theory also failed hardcore in practice. You get maybe a few medium tanks to spot, and the rest just filled with heavy tanks and SPGs. Light tanks? what's that?

So here's hoping Piranha got it working right in MWO.

even worse is the arbitrary cammo system.
hope we don't see mechs vanishing infront of you because that 3ftx3ft bush magically hides them.

Unless Piranha is crazy i am quite certain no sane dev would do so in an action oriented game.
