In related news, a new Borderlands 2 FAQ has revealed that the game will support matchmaking, Steam Cloud, Steam Achievements, and more besides via Steamworks...

Sorry I think you got confused with GFWL.

Steamworks is great, means I don't have to worry about my save game, anywhere I play (I play on my laptop when I go out of state).

I'd choose Steamworks integration for MP over the gamespy POS they went with for the first game any day of the week.

Not sure what it is you hate about Steamworks/Steam itself but I've found Steamworks to be a good compromise between publisher and consumer when it comes to DRM.

Now if they'd only take out the SecuROM in the Steam versions of DLC 1 and 2 for Borderlands 1.
DRM is like kids. The less you have, the better.

I hate it when they offer gear like that in a game like this. It either ends up unbalancing the game, or just ending up being useless **** anyways. Fallout had the same problem, the preorder equipment ruins the start of the game, I end up stashing it all in the first container I come across and not touching it again...

Sorry, no I don't, GFWL is actually worse...

Well usually when you save a game it saves to your computers HDD, if you have 2 or 4 like I do, you just copy the save game to whatever system you want. I have a laptop I take to TAFE, I play OpenTTD, so I just copy the game save over before I leave...

Let me see... Everything... pretty much sums it up...

When I first got Dawn of War 2, installed and it installed Steam with it, oh ****, ****.... Played for about 20 minutes, went to restart after I had something to eat, got the message "this is not registered to your account"... **** off!! Reinstall... Played again for an hour or so, went to start it the next day only to get the same message. This went on for a bout 4 days, had to reinstall everytime I went to play the damn game, never played for a while until after the first update, had to reinstall the game again...

Uninstalled DoW2 and Steam, that was the first time since Half Life 2 I tried Steam, never again.

It's kinda like the additional stuff in Kingdoms of Amalur, that stuff was ridiculously over powered, but the thing is, we can decide to use it or not, which I don't mind, but in the end, it shouldn't be included in the first place. They worded it as to "start out the game" so hopefully it wont be too powerful like the stuff in Kingdoms of Amalur.

And yes, I don't know why you're (not you jester) hatin' on Steamworks, it **** all over the GameSPY **** they used in the first one. I might actually play co-op this time.

Overpowered? Really? I've already found better stuff in my game and I'm not even level 10

That was GFWL, which DoW2 used on top of steam, causing all those problems, not steam...

And yeah, the pre-order bonus items for KoA:R where useful for all of half an hour.

omg, you dumb old fart... Let me spell it out to you then...

When I first got Dawn of War 2, actually pre-ordered from EB without know that it was packaged with Steam, if I had known, no way would I have brought it.

I got back home and installed, Steam was installed at the same time. DAMN!!

I played for about 20 - 30 minutes before I had something to eat as I had just got home from TAFE.

After I had something to eat I went to restart Dawn of War 2, but instead got a message, "this software is not registered to your account" or something like those words. (can't remember now too long ago)

Dawn of War 2 would not start at all, had to reinstall, yeah I have nothing better to do but to reinstall a game that was installed only an hour ago.

After reinstall, I played for about an hour or so, which reminds me, when I went to start the game the first thing I seen, big advertizement in the middle of my screen... Play the Dawn of War 2 multiplayer Beta now!! Why the hell would I want to play a beta of the game I have just installed?? twice!!

This process repeated itself over the next 4 - 5 days, everytime I went to play Dawn of War 2 I got messages about "not registered" and I had to reinstall the damn game.

I gave up, never played again until after the first update came through when I brother told me about it, he was having the same problems as me, but his system was actually locking up while playing.

I started Dawn of War 2, update came through and corrupted, had to reinstall then redownload the update, installed it again, actually got to play for about 3 hours without any problems.

Went to start Dawn of War 2 the next day, I will give you one guess what happened....

Is that good enough for you? Steam... Great for 1 day, reinstall the next...
