I'd rather BW fix their current MMO rather than start a new one...

I'm genuinely surprised that the article title wasn't "Bioware all but confirm Mass Effect 4: The MMO". And no, I'm not joking. I am genuinely surprised.

SWTOR should've been set in the ME universe. It gives much greater scope for new ideas and art styles. Using material from Lucas is just... /facepalm.

Suggestion -

Vanilla version - Mass Effect: The Reaper Offensive

Expansion #1 - Mass Effect: Turian Hostility

Expansion #2 - Mass Effect: Asari Treaty

There we have it. METRO, METH and MEAT. So much easier to market the the non-acronymistic SWTOR.

Wait... what?

Decisions in an MMO are never universe changing. Because the decision you just did, the people you just killed, have to be reset in 10 seconds to be done by the next person behind you.

The only time this is possible is in roleplay between players.

Not "never" ;)

In EQ1 there were events that could be done once then they were forever over.

see 'the sleepers tomb' as an example.
once Kerafyrm the dragon died on a server, it never respawned. [intentionally]
and in WWIIOL everything in changing, until the map is reset once one side or other achieves victory.
and that style suits FPS/3rPS MMOs just fine.
no 'character or account data is deleted, people keep their 'progress' but the map/world is restarted fresh.

but the ultimate in the field of persistent MMORPGs that has an ever changing world is WURM Online.
its world is changed right down to the ground itself being terraformed.

So yeah its totally possible to make an MMO with a world that can be forever changed by player actions, it just takes a little more imagination then copying WoW requires.

It can't be fixed, its always going to be a steaming pile due to poor design decisions.
Fixing it would require rewriting the game-play from scratch.
