Many gamers trying to enjoy DICE's hit new military FPS on their Sony consoles have found that their on-screen actions have been lagging noticeably behind their controller input...

business model based partly or entirely around subscription fees

I wonder if this means a battlelog subscription.

Speculation is yes, apparently. (according to that blog).

Since they were very open about the fact Battlelog was free compared to COD Elite, I'd love to see the PR spin for this move.

If subscription fees for a "Premium battlelog" come in it will most likely be on every platform.

Yet, DICE switched to the console as the main platform half way through development. Also: Battlelog + Origin Client + restart game every time to change maps = retarded.

They only "switched" because the console versions needed extra time.

I dunno what the hell you're talking about mate, you don't have to restart the game when a server changes maps at all. And to be honest, I barely notice Origin is there anymore, I launch BF3 exclusively through Battlelog, and that's just a favourite on my toolbar. I'm not saying Origin isn't ****, it is, but it's pretty unobtrusive with BF3

Except when it comes to DRM.

I bet the developers think along the lines of... "Lets make the paying PC gamers life harder and implement lots of restrictive DRM!".

I would rather go back to the days of the CD keys, at-least I'm not forced to have an internet connection on my LAN machines, sign up for multiple services or have to use things like Steam or Origin.

Take a look at GTAIV for example, it's a horribly optimized console game, you buy it on steam spend several hours downloading it.
Once you are done and you go to install it... It forces you to install Games for Windows Live!, then you have to register for that.
Then you are forced to register for Rockstar Pass. - So that's hours of your time before you even get to the main menu.

Then you need to hope nothing buggers up in the mean time, not to mention you get a performance increase if you use exotic means to disable said DRM.

Yes the PC is superior from a technical view point, but hardly superior from an ease of use perspective because these game developers have made it several multiples more of a headache to even bother. (Yet, Pirates don't have to deal with none of this.)

I do love PC gaming, but it's getting allot harder to love PC gaming when they make stuff so difficult.

There are MANY people who experience problems at map change... it goes to black screen and then - nothing.

Various "fixes" include ALT-Tabbing out or otherwise minimising the window during map change - complete re-installs - only joining 24/7 single map servers - but there is no official fix for the problem...
