The PC Release of Alan Wake?

Unread postby News Portal » 14 Dec 11, 10:32 am

The concept of [app=570]Alan Wake[/app] releasing on the PC at this stage of the game demands that both “rich” and “belated” be reclassified. In the former case, Remedy ditched the initially promised platform in favour of Xbox 360 exclusivity. In the latter, well, I mean, Alan Wake came out in May last year. Still, the evidence is starting to mount, and it looks like The Game That Hates Your Comp may well find its way onto the PC in the near future.

"Remedy ditched the initially promised platform in favour of Xbox 360 exclusivity"

I would point my finger at the publisher, Microsoft, first.

Have PC monitors got big enough?

I believe one of the excuses was the the experience was lost on a small PC screen as opposed to the large screen tv experience in a dark lounge.

There's also this:

That program reads Steam registry files. So they're (M$) working with Steam and Steam are getting the ball rolling. This is a very, very good thing. :D

And likely to be a dodgy **** port.

Would've been nice 10 years ago.. Not so much now.

I said the same when someone told me it was listed on the site.

Also for Total War fans, the site that lists steam registries has listed 5 new Shogun 2 (preorder?) DLC for the coming Rise of the Samurai Expansion (yes it is getting a physical release).

I'll believe it when I see it in the Steam store. Otherwise I still don't have that much faith in Remedy after the shenanigans that led up to this point in time.

Huh. I don't understand this mentality. Can anyone explain it to me? What does Remedy own you? How did they stab you, personally, in the back?

Its a safe bet to say that it will probably be 90USD on the Aussie Steam Store.

It was going to be on PC. And then they decided it wasn't. It's not something that they are going to apologise for and they don't owe it to you to release the game simply because that was their original plan. It will be nice if it does actually eventually get released on PC, but it isn't your right to expect that it will be or to feel short-changed when it doesn't happen.
