The game is very much like KOTOR :) (it is set around the same time, can't remember exactly where KOTOR fits in this time frame, but I do know its about 4000 years or so before the movies)
The story quests are fanastic and quite engaging. Also your character has a voice!
Just about everyone you speak to has a voice in the game.

I guess this can be spoilerish, but I thought this particular sequence in the consular story very cool:
Hidden: show
it basically ends with you creating your own light sabre, with a very cool cutscene showing the light sabre being assembled by a Forge

On the graphics front: if its an enjoyable game, does it really matter??
Look at WoW - that has survived for 7 years!! And they only upped the graphics options with the last expansion.
I'm sure Bioware can tweak the graphics over time.

(I also wasn't aware that certain graphics options were turned off)

Their is a difference between aesthetics and graphics.

The graphics engine behind this is quite stunning take a look at reflections water shadows and the like they are all rendered very well.

The cartoonish look is not in relation to the quality of the graphics engine but the visual aesthetic the designers went with, their is a massive difference between the 2 topics stop being silly.

More importantly game is solidly built, their are alot of new and interesting mechanics and the compelling story-lines will have me leveling alot of alts

Exactly! It is Bioware's chosen art style. I quite like it. The whole aversion to "cartoon looks" is kinda silly.

The underlying engine is very responsive to keyboard and mouse - that is the most important thing. Also, the lag was quite minimal, 200ms. So they've created an excellent engine to run the game on.

You can change font size - that's the extent of font change.

This is the second time playing in a beta weekend I like the story lines for the different charater classes and the holo-call feature is good as it means when questing in a adhoc group that only one person has to go back to the quest giver

I enjoyed my time in the beta a while back, I'll be playing this more for the story rather than the MMOey ness of it but I guess I'll see how it goes.

Some of the games out of this universe have been very good indeed; X-Wing, Tie Fighter, KotOR, Rebellion (!). Also had a lot of fun with Dark Forces, Rebel Assault 2 and helly yeah Yoda Stories! :D :D

graphics dont make a game if u played age of conan ud know this and realise that all the extras they have put into the game will make it more enjoyable then what a few extra pixels will

I also cant see how SWTOR can be compared to DCUOnline - yes they are MMOs but they play completely differently.

It's set approximately 300 years after KoTOR, and 3,500 years BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin.)

As much as I'm keen to play a Starwars MMO...I still refuse to pay a subscription fee for a game!
I'll wait for it to come with a F2P option b4 I venture in! (if that ever happens)
