Call of Duty: World at War map pack downloaded over 1 millio

With all the money that has been made from World War II video-games, it is probably likely that the war itself could have been funded several times over by the sales of games such as Call of Duty: World at War.

The latest piece of evidence that suggests this could be a likely scenario has been released by Activision, who have just announced that the recently released map pack for Call of Duty: World at War has sold a staggering one million digital copies in just over a week following its release.

got cynical? Why wouldn't it be awesome. CoD4 still has a huge player base and the CoD franchise is generally noted for its top notch single player campaigns. Backed up by the fact this one, unlike CoD:WW is being created by Infinity Ward. I don't know why the article needed to end with what looks like a swipe at the CoD series. GG

yeah, I'm a believer in "Just because it's popular doesn't mean it's good", I present World of Warcraft and Counter-strike (and\or Source) as 2 examples of this. However the COD series of games is honestly a good series. It might not be to all taste's However it doesn't have to be. I know I like it and I'm hanging out for the next game. I'm not a fan of World at War, I'm sure it's a good console game but as it is so far it's a pretty poor PC game. Regardless, the entire series, as a hole, is very good and does not deserve such a back handed slap.

the only way i'd truly be interested in a new CoD game is if Infinity Ward were making a new WW2 versions with the same attention to story as CoD4 only following actual historic events, but even then there's no guarantees i'd be interested in the franchise again

well promod turns COD4 into CSS so why can't there be some kind of WOW mod for cod-waw?

The next game is going to be called Modern Warfare 2, not Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Try and find CoD mentioned anywhere in the press release, website or teaser.
