BlizzCon 2009 confirmed for August

While it feels like we've hardly recovered from the last one, [comp=25]Blizzard[/comp] have just announced their plans to hold their next BlizzCon gaming convention in August of this year. This will be their fourth such convention - which is marketed as "a celebration of the global player communities" that surround [comp=25]Blizzard[/comp]'s main universes - [app=2278]StarCraft[/app], [app=4089]Diablo[/app] and [app=2733]WarCraft[/app].

Proving that the company is, in fact, on track to take over the world, they've also announced that this year's event, to be held as usual in the Anaheim Convention Center, has expanded yet again - from three convention halls to four. Wow. (Pun not intended, honest!)

I have to remember this post after Blizzcon to see if the below are correct!

I think they will announce:

[*]Release date for StarCraft 2, probably around Christmas.
[*]The first details of the next WoW Expansion. It gives them a further year to tantalise people before next years event and the next expansions release at the end of 2010 or early 2011.
[*]More Diablo 3 playable classes
[*]Maybe some details on this unannounced MMO?

Is there another WWI taking place before Blizzcon?

I really hope we don't have to wait till christmas. I thought the beta was starting within a month or so... my guestimate for beta would be 3-4 months? Guess well have to wait and see.
