Silent Hill: Homecoming - Now appropriate for Aussies

Way back in September, it was announced that Konami's Silent Hill: Homecoming would not be arriving on Australian shores, thanks to some pretty violent scenes that were outlined in the official report from the Classification Board.

Well, today, we have a new Classification Board report for you, explaining a new decision - a revised edition of Silent Hill: Homecoming has been given an MA15+ rating, with the consumer advice of strong horror violence and themes.

it reminds me of some old south park thing where:

"they can see as much violence as they like so long as they do not use naughty words"

now it's the opposite

Power tool torture is all fun and games when being done with real people in a modern horror movie, but once you start depicting it with polygons it becomes a blight on society. However now that the act occurs with shifted visual focus I am sure it is appropriate for the children of Australia.

I think you're right - from the report:
"...the game contains coarse language that can be accommodated within a lower classification."

what a joke. higher classification for games needs to be brought into australia. get with the times and move with the rest of the world. if movies and television can have an R rating than why can't video games?

this has only proven how stupid that little south aussie boy is who wont sign those papers... because of him this video game is now going to be available to 15yr olds. so much for protecting the children.

I have to say that while I love the Silent Hill series. I played the American version of this and was so underwhelmed that I think my head almost exploded. MA15+ rating isn't going to help this game...
