Help!

Unread postby CelticAngel82 » 13 Mar 11, 1:53 pm

I stupidly (im kicking my own ****, believe me!!) DROPPED my camera off the kitchen bench last week - and now it takes blurry photos :( like completely out of focus.. i was wondering if it's even worth getting someone to look at it and fix it, or just chuck it and buy a new one.. it's a Fuji Fine Pix s8000... i cried to mum about it, so hopefully she'll (again) give me one of her "old" cameras, since she upgrades a lot :P

Its probably shot, but a thought for the future: Most insurance companies will let you add your camera to the contents insurance. A lot cover against accidental damage too. For next to nothing every year, my SLR is insured at home as well as out and about (even against my own stupidity).

It won't be cheap at all. Standard cost for lens replacement is obscene. Its a now non standard, so that makes it pricier - the main problem with the cost is, however, the cost of labour. Thats whats going to make it non-worthwhile.

You are probably looking at around $400, or therabouts. No joke. Its the average for lens work.
