Oh ok I didn't see that, I haven't spoken to them at Harvey Norman yet. But after seeing that deal I will head in either today or on the weekend. That's a real good price! And I still do get the $50 cash back?

Well I can kiss that $826 D3000 with the 2 lenses.
Offer ends tomorrow, and you have to Flexirent or Personal Lease the item, you can't buy it out right for that price. :(

No you don't. That guy LIED to you, and that's also goddamn illegal. Call the store tomorrow, ask to speak to the franchisee and tell him what you were told. Because that is without doubt the biggest load of **** I've ever heard, and believe me, I'm in a position to know.

That is a catalog price and you can buy it outright for that no problem. What you were told is a direct violation of ACCC guidelines.

Oh ok, I'll go back then. It did say it ended on the 26th though? Does that mean it has gone back to normal price?

I believe so, but you've at least got -that- bit of information on your side.

Speak to the management, don't go to staff people. Even if the catalog has ended you can still demand that price because you were initially denied it. If that does not work, I'd recommend speaking to ACCC.

Still haven't gotten the camera yet. :( Ran into some troubles and had to spend a bit of my savings, should have it this weekend. :)

I just looked at the Harvey Norman website again and noticed the D3000 with 18-55mm and 70mm-300mm going for $828!

The only downfall is they're not VR lenses. Should I instead get the D3000 with an 18-55mm VR lens which will cost more or go with this package? I have been reading "The Digital Photography Book" by Scott Kelby and VR seems like what dreams are made of. :P What way would you go Nemesis?

EDIT:
I checked Ted's again and they have the 18-55mm and 55-200mm VR lenses for $919.95 but I did find the exact same package on Ryda for $898.95 but I think Ted's will beat that price and I'd rather go through Ted's with them being in Brissy and all.

So it's either Harvey Norman D3000 with 18-55mm + 70-300mm for $828.
Or through Ted's the D3000 with 18-55mm VR + 55-200mm VR for $898.

I'm leaning more towards the Ted's package only because combining both lenses gives me 18-200mm but the HN deal there's 56-69mm missing but I get the extra zoom which IMO I wouldn't use to much, I am interested in macro but not that much.
