What server? I just started on Dwarrowdelf...

Just got to level 11, FTP, and its going to cost money to open up a slot trait... Is it worth it?

yeah im playing it a fair bit now, on the Elendilmir server (the unofficial Aussie server). not sure how many Turbine points you need to unlock trait slots, i didn't have to unlock it because i was previously a subscriber. however the only content i see worthy of purchase from the LOTRO store (for non-VIP's) is the expansions & quest packs.

it might be a better idea to subscribe to VIP for one month (~$15) if you're a new player then cancel it, when your account drops back to Premium a month later you still retain some perks from being a VIP, pretty sure you keep a higher gold cap, riding skill, extra character slot, storage and possibly trait slots aswell, not sure on the full details.

personally im staying a Premium account with the necessary quest packs and expansions, kind of like a tight **** life time subscription.

Started playing it a couple of days ago.

Has anyone else noticed that almost everyone solo's? I tried for quite a while last night to find someone interested in actually forming a party. No luck at all and I'm playing as a halfling Minstrel. Who wouldn't appreciate a Bard fighting alongside them? (I even RP'd him a bit to maybe spark some interest, but still no takers)

Luckily I have a RL mate to play with most of the time. But the amount of times I've been in a small area with about half a dozen players ALL doing the same quest, ALL tring to kill the same stuff and ALL doing it solo.

It's sad. Maybe they need to make the game harder to encourage teamwork.

Landroval is still (IMHO) the best server for both roleplaying and community spirit. Check out the Lotro forums page for Landroval server, there are many community organised events both for roleplaying and helping new players. There is a solid Aussie contingency.

A simple post 'I'm new to the server, looking for some friends to adventure and roleplay with' will guarantee to receive many responses of folks willing to help.

I have a permanent account (perk as ex-Midway employee, they launched the game back in the US) but currently inactive due to a new-born, but will be back sometime soon I hope!

What's a good level to do a month subscription, I'm reading some LOTRO sites there appears to be some good residual benefits post-VIP in certain levels.

Problems I'm having with the free account is mobility/lack of mount or transport and bagspace.

lol just made a hunter on Elendilmir the other day. Look for Goonbandita stealing your resource nodes and camping your mobs

Opening a slot trait is up to you based on your character and what you like i have lvl 30 guardian man and i havent opend slots and im doing fine
