I hate revenants there is something wrong with this game i can kill dragons without even so much as having to get a heal off and get crazy amounts of loot for it revenants tho they completely destroy me.

To answer your question night bringer im yet to have a single glitch let alone a crash.

I played for about 8-9 hours yesterday, and nary a glitch in sight.

It's funny how it came about today, when I tried to play it. I'm going to have to play around with Windows 7's internals to see if I can't dig up some error logs.

I've found a few minor graphical bugs in the game but the only bug I've found that makes it unplayable is once, in the party selection screen I could only click on my dawg and Marregeth or whatever he name is. The hot mage chick.
I saved, quite, jumped back in and problem solved. Not had it since.

I'm using Vista. It Alt-Tabs great. Running with graphics maxed, 1680x1080 with 4x AA.

Apart from the beard on my Char not lining up with his cheeks, and the transparent outline of hair will remove some of the background blur, the game is flawless. I would like some more dynamic shadows though. On the player model. Everything kind of looks a little 1998-ish.

lol 1998... dont you mean 2005, people forget how fast the tech improves :p

but yeah, no game breakers as far as bugs go, though im finding it hard to have some RL conversations, i keep looking for the options for what to say :-/

21 hours in (all lv12s) - 40% game world explored

Being a BG 1 - 2 veteran, the combat is easy, you just need to make good use of your mages CC, and if you have melee - always flank when possible, or attack from behind with a rogue for backstab bonus

alot of spells work together, such as fire with oil - or even easier freezing enemies then getting your warrior to shield bash for an instant shatter (a crit will do it also), it all just takes planning and working out what options you have based on pick of characters.

And common sense, look for the biggest threat and get it down asap (eg. mages)

Use the area around you also, if you are up against 15 enemies, get everyone to run up a passage, or ladder to higher ground, and fight in the small area "300" style, or just get your mage to keep spamming frost while they all run up after you in a neat line to keep them frozen, use your environment to your advantage (have won alot of tough battles like this)

think of every battle as a little rome total war match

Only been up against one enemy i couldnt defeat, a big ass dragon - guessing i have to go back for him later levels

For those having issues with healing - Morrigan can learn a moderate heal spell that is useful early levels - so train it up as soon as you get her, also recommend training up her frost and mind fear abilities, both lead to AOE spells that are very helpful when ambushed.
Also the 2nd tier frost ability also AOE enchants your groups weapons for extra frost damage which stays on as long as its activated, which is a nice perk

Final tip (i love this game) - Another useful spell is Force Shield (makes target immune to damage, but freezes him in place), this is must have when used with your main tank, if you use it with a warrior after a taunt, most NPC's will bash into him doing no damage while you pick them off with your other PC's - enjoy

I really want to play this game... but I'm yet to finish Brutal Legend... I can't mix story lines!

Has anyone had any troubles downloading this with Steamwatch enabled? Left mine going over night and it moved from zero percent to zero percent. Going to try Frey's filter when I get home, assuming it has downloaded nothing again.

Also, i had a strange graphical bug when Morrigan seemed to create a blackhole within her model and turn inside out. Her model was floating around with legs and arms flailing out in all directions, was amazingly hilarious...though a quick reload did fix it.

if i where to buy the dragon age... would yous recommend getting the deluxe edition for the bonus items?

while i can see the items being useful, they wont really affect the game for you.

you can buy Wardens keep, the extra content from the deluxe edition for about $9AUD online, so my theory is, if you buy the game, and the Deluxe version is $10 or less than standard get it, if its more think about what you want, and maybe get regular, and purchase Wardens Keep for $9

This game reminds me a lot of NWN, except DAO is a bit more linear and boring. I was expecting something a little more open world, but the levels are just quests so far, and the quests are pretty stupid. 'Oh no find my brother he's missing!' or 'kill 3 groups of bandits north of town!' or even the hopelessly unoriginal 'help me there's spiders in my basement'.

I just hope the modding community comes up with some good stuff soon.

it felt like that at first for me, but once you get past Lothering, or whatever it is, the game is no longer linear, and every choice you make actually affects the rest of the game in some way. Consequences and repercussions abound in this game

I love this game, really really enjoying it though i did get a ways in and had to reroll as my party make-up was making certain fights ridiculously hard - even on Normal difficulty.

If anything i have to say that it reminds me of the Witcher. The way Witcher broke down zones so they werent completely free roam, but were broken into their own areas etc, very similar. That combined with the tradeskills and a number of other things. Not that that is a bad thing as Witcher was a great game.

I thought The Witcher was most impressive for the sheer bustle it gave every zone due to the amount of stuff it managed to cram into each map.

Conversely many free roam games you spend hours traversing areas where nothing happens apart form a few butterflies flying around. So far I think Dragon Age is a happy medium. The world feels bigger, albeit slower paced, but not empty.

Anyone else having a mad glitch at the beginning of the game?

finally got my assessments done, and this thing DL'd and i start it up and there is NO TEXT on the main screen... like where the button is in the bottom left of the screen, there is a button but NO TEXT, you click on it and it opens up what looks like a sign in or profile name creation thing and again NO TEXT so i got no idea how to start this game... FFFFUUUUUUUUUUU

now to look through and see if its graphics or some such as this is bollocks. the character creation thingo worked no issue, why is it fubar.... gah.
