CES hasn’t even begun aproper yet and already Lenovo are throwing back the shades on their new line of AMD-powered ThinkPads for 2011. AMD? Best believe it or else. Shirking Intel’s revamped goodies in favour of AMD’s new Fusion E-Series APUs, the ThinkPad X120e, Edge E220, and Edge 420 are seriously nifty little machines for those dorks on the go. While filthy Mac owners like yours truly will swan around with our trendy noses in the air pretending like everything’s fine and it doesn’t hurt, it’s hard not to be impressed by Lenovo’s latest…

Sweet. I was looking for a new 13" laptop with DVD drive. Might have to keep my eye on the 12" E220 and see if that meets my needs.

The article mentions

Both models will be available with either Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processors,


yet at the start it says they are AMD processors...

Yeah... the article made a bit of a mess of the press releases.

ThinkPad X120e = AMD E-series APU (Zacate)
Edge E220 & Edge E420 = Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors

Both ranges will be pretty much useless for gaming.
