Unread postby News Portal » 3 Dec 10, 2:11 pm

I certainly hope the next Xbox doesn't look like that.

While nVidia provided Sony with a chip similar to the DX9 7600GT card

Given how slowly things move in the world of console gaming, we’d expect a new XBox 720 product (assuming no major issues with Global Foundries) to be launched in 2012.

Shins, i love you.

lold so hard i think i ruptured a spleen.

I think the way cpu' are going the next consoles will be running one of the new two unified architectures, so cpu and gpu will be one and the same... which is kinda good, and kinda bad. The Intel offerings have been ok but nothing too outstanding, and the new AMD cpu's with Gpus look to be the goods

I don't think it will happen next generation unless there is a big jump in tech in the next 12-24 months.

Haha. I must have blinked and missed it when AMD chips became cooler and quieter than the competition.

Bulldozer chips from AMD are meant to be out next year.

I used to have an old modem shaped like that, sorta Manta ray inspired. Used to get some laughs. :)

That's a fairly inaccurate assumption to have.

The PS3 was brought out fairly soon after the release of the PS2 slim. As with the Gameboy Advance SP and the DS, the PS one and the Playstation 2, etc.

Bringing out new gen consoles shortly after the release of a "slim" (or improved/gimmicky) version of the current gen is fairly common practice in the console industry.

I'm not saying it's going to happen. I'm just pointing out that saying it won't happen is contradictory to the historical trend of console developers.
