Despite its small size, the 3DS appears to be a veritable beast of a machine; perhaps some kind of ravenous rodent, like a stoat, or a ferret. The kind that is infinitely portable but may just eat your eyeballs.
Wow, that analogy turned out better than we expected, since what we're leading into is a set of screenshots demonstrating the diminutive console's graphical punch, which may cause eye damage due to being terrific.
