Well, I kind of hoped it wasn't true, but it looks like Nintendo have done it again. Another new DS model is officially on its way, following on from the rumours of a few weeks back. Surprisingly, the latest edition bucks the trend by being significantly larger than its precursor.

Images have been floating around for a few days now, so it's probably time we took a look at them, and our newest reason to bemoan early adoption.

Wow, that is getting big. Compared to my first gen DS, those screens will be huge by comparison!

I wonder if they remembered to reintroduce the GBA slot?

I think you missed the point that this new one is meant for the elderly and those with poorer eyesight

That sounds pretty logical. The DS screens are very tiny .... mmmm PSP.

It's true, they really need an account system like steam for the ds and wii so upgrades arn't as painful. It really isn't an issue in this case though. Its not positioned as an upgrade, and i dont think to many people who own a DS (and therefore presumably have fine sight and sufficiently dextrous fingers) would really want a device this big. I don't understand this "Ninty burned us for releasing a new one so soon" vibe thats going around.

Well that's just ridiculous. No way I'd want to buy the big, chunky console. They could have at least made the screens proportionally bigger or something.
