HD Texture pack

Unread postby Kendrite » 10 Feb 12, 8:39 pm

Just got the HD pack and have tried to run it with ultra settings (as I'd been playing with in the past). Game seems to drop lots of frames when I spin around 180 degrees though.

I'm hoping a patch will fix this (either from nvidia or Bethesda). But in the meantime would it be advisable to:

1. Run the game on ultra with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering maxed and have no new HD textures running or;

2. Run the game on ultra with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering off and FXAA on with HD textures running?

I know I should just run what I think looks best but is there a general opinion as to one being better than the other.

If i had to choose, i would prefer AA & AF without the HD textures. FXAA in Skyrim is horrible imo, it blurs the entire screen. The HD pack is nice and all, but it doesn't make a huge difference, whereas AA and AF do (for me). I never turn AF below x8 on any game either, i find it rarely impacts performance at all. =)
